Abstract

ABSTRACT
Described for the first time in the medical literature in 1767 by Cordon, Aplasia cutis congenita causes an absence of skin. We report a case diagnosed at Boulmiougou hospital. The 17-day-old newborn with no history presented on dermatological examination with an oval, translucent alopecic patch on the scalp. He had no associated malformation syndrome. We concluded that there was congenital aplasia cutis at Frieden stage 1. The multidisciplinary management allowed healing in twenty days. The prognosis of our patient was good because of the absence of associated anomaly and the superficial nature of the cutaneous aplasia.
