This condition leads to three conflicts. The first is motor and characterized by the angle of deviation. The second is sensory and is defined by the triad: amblyopia, suppression and abnormal retinal correspondence. The third is psychosocial and is characterized by the impact of strabismus on the patient and his environnement. Despite the fact that present-day perception and management of strabismus are coherent; they have however fluctuated with time and civilizations. We narrate this changing history.

ER -
