RÉSUMÉ
Introduction. Conclusion.
ABSTRACT
Introduction. Systemic lupus erythematosus, also known as systemic lupus, is a chronic autoimmune disease that mainly affects the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, and nervous system. The aim of our study was to describe the epidemiological and clinical profile of cases of systemic lupus in the Dermatology Department at the Bamako Dermatology Hospital (HDB). Methodology. This was a descriptive cross-sectional study of cases of systemic lupus erythematosus in the dermatology department at the HDB over a period of 12 months from March 01, 2018 to March 21, 2019 involving all patients with systemic lupus. Results. We identified 33 patients with a sex ratio of 0.10 and a mean age of 42 years. The most common clinical signs were butterfly rash (100%) or discoid rash (96.97%). The most common biological markers were the presence of inflammatory anemia (27.2%) and native DNA antibodies (90.91%). Conclusion. This study highlights the importance of early recognition and appropriate management of systemic lupus to improve the quality of life of patients.
