Abstract

RÉSUMÉ
La conjonctivite aigue est une manifestation de l’infection à Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Elle peut être discrète, surtout si elle est unilatérale ou asymétrique. Sa bilatéralité et la diffusion de l’hyperhémie sont susceptibles d’inquiéter le malade et l’amener à consulter. C’est le cas de ce patient de 37 ans, de sexe masculin, reçu pour rougeur oculaire bilatérale dont l’examen clinique avait retrouvé une hyperhémie conjonctivale bilatérale diffuse et une température à 39°C. L’examen virologique de PCR a confirmé le diagnostic d’une infection au nouveau coronavirus. Ce cas pose un problème diagnostique pour le malade et de prévention pour le personnel soignant.

ABSTRACT
Acute conjunctivitis is a possible manifestation during SARS-CoV-2 infection. It can be discrete, especially if it is unilateral or asymmetrical. Bilateral acute conjunctivitis especially with the spread of hyperemia is likely to worry the patient and therefore prompt him to consult. We report the case of a 37-year-old male patient, who consulted for bilateral ocular redness of acute onset. Clinical examination found diffuse bilateral conjunctival hyperemia and a temperature at 39°C. The SARS-CoV-2 PCR test was positive. This case of coronavirus infection illustrates a diagnostic issue for the patient and a prevention issue for the healthcare providers.
