Abstract
ABSTRACT
We present a series of three cases of solid renal tumours diagnosed over a period of 18 months at Bouaké University Hospital. This series illustrates the histological and prognostic diversity of renal carcinomas. The patients, aged between 30 and 64 years, presented with the classic presentation of haematuria, lumbar pain and a palpable mass. Diagnosis was based on CT urogram, followed by surgical treatment with nephrectomy. Anatomopathological examination of the surgical specimens revealed two distinct entities: a Bellini ductal carcinoma (case 1) and two clear cell carcinomas (cases 2 and 3). The post-operative course was marked by rapid death in the first case, secondary to aggressive metastatic progression, contrasting with an uncomplicated convalescence in the other two patients after a short follow-up. This experience highlights the clinical heterogeneity of kidney cancers and the major prognostic impact of histological subtype.
