Conclusion.

ABSTRACT
Introduction. Colorectal cancer is a public health global problem. It is the 3rd most common. In Burkina Faso, the published data from the CCR date back more than 10 years. The aim of this study was to assess the evolution of CRC in Ouagadougou in hospital settings. Materials and methods. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study with retrospective data collection mode, covering the period from 01/01/2007 to 12/31/2016. It was carried out in Ouagadougou in five hospitals. Were included all patients with histological confirmation of a suspicious lesion. Results. In 10 years, 4850 colonoscopy were performed with 106 lesions suspected of malignancy or 2.18% of colonoscopy. Histological examination was done in 90 cases and histological confirmation was found in 70 cases, for an average of 7 confirmed cases per year. The mean age of our patients was 51 ± 15 years with extremes ranging from 20 to 81 years. Abdominal pain (22.3%), chronic constipation (15.8%), palpation of an abdominal mass (15.8%) and hematochesia (15.8%) were the mains symptoms encountered. The topography of the lesions was rectal in 48.8% of cases, left colic in 31.4% of cases, and right colic in 20% of cases. The histological type was predominantly well differentiated adenocarcinoma in 75.7% of cases. Conclusion. The hospital incidence of CRC is increasing in Ouagadougou. CRC affects mainly young adults and the diagnosis is often delayed. The emphasis should be on prevention by highlighting the environmental protective factors of our sub-Saharan countries.
ER -
