Abstract

ABSTRACT
A teratoma is a congenital tumour derived from cells of the embryonic germ layers (ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm). Cervico-mediastinal location of teratomas is very rare. We report a clinical case of cervico-mediastinal teratoma, diagnosed during the investigation of exertional dyspnoea in a 17-year-old girl. Therapeutic management of this teratoma consisted of total surgical removal. The tumour was removed by cervico-sternotomy.
